The Kenzo Kraze

 

November 3rd, 2016 marked the day that fashion fans the world over entered what I like to call a "Kenzo Kraze".  270 selected H&M stores across the globe and online had the honor of launching the brands' first collaboration collection with French luxury fashion house Kenzo. When this special collaboration was announced back in May of this year, fans of both brands found themselves shocked and excited by the news which was followed by months of teasers to ease their pain of waiting. 

I too am a fan of both brands and was excited to see how fast this one of a kind collection would sell out from the one (out of many) H&M store in Jakarta that had the privilege of launching the line. Come  D-day, I expected there to be a massive queue stretching far beyond the limits of my peripheral vision and ruin any chance i had of getting my hands on at least one piece. However, my hypothesis was proven to be incorrect as the situation was much worse than I had imagined. Jakarta's fashionistas were in a fashion frenzy, going to enormous lengths such as camping outside Grand Indonesia's H&M the night before the launch to ensure they wouldn't miss out. 

I must admit that I am not as dedicated as some of my fellow fashion influencers when it comes to putting myself through extream measures in order to get the latest "it" item or piece. Thus, upon hearing the news that the collection sold out in less than two hours I assumed I had lost out to the powers that are fast fashion. Nevertheless, I wheeled to H&M at 3:30 pm that afternoon and was lucky enough to score myself the last pair of  H&M X Kenzo jeans in my size (33 European if you must know).   

As I could only acquire one piece from the collection I like to pair the jeans with my navy eye all over T-shirt from Kenzo's FW 16 collection. These two pieces seem to balance each other out creating a great casual #ootd.
