Seoul, South Korea. Stars from across both the East and West traveled to Seoul for the grand opening of Louis Vuitton’s new flagship store in Seoul’s Gangnam neighborhood followed by an amazing show at Incheon airport. Korean celebrities and LV brand ambassadors Gongyoo (공유) and Doona bae (배두나) were in attendance with Fillipina superstar Anne Curtis Smith, China’s Dilraba Dilmurat and many more. Louis Vuitton’s new flagship store signifies the importance of the Korean market to the brand.

Designed by Frank Gehry and Peter Marino who used Korean heritage, history and culture as inspiration, specifically the “swooping movements and white costumes” of the Dongnae Hakchum (Crane Dance) the store’s exterior featuring a high zig-zagging vestibule and window, is just as beautiful and breathtaking as its interior. Boasting beautiful floral installations and modern furnishings the store perfectly shows of all of what Louis Vuitton has to offer in its new collection.

“What struck me when I first visited Seoul nearly 25 years ago, was the relationship between the architecture and the natural landscape. I still remember clearly the powerful impressions I had stepping up from the garden of Jongmyo Shrine” says Frank Gehry. Frank continued by saying “I am delighted to have designed Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul, reflecting the traditional values of the Korean culture.”

Check out some of the photos from the opening event and of the store below as well as a highlight video from brand’s show.
