Going Green

Green, my least favorite color in the rainbow besides orange, I have nothing against the color besides the fact I feel it doesn't suit me.  It may look splendid on others with but just not me.  Throughout my life, I've tried hard  and put effort into liking the color in almost  all of its shades, however, green and I just don't click, It's as if were fated to never be.

During middle school I was forced to wear green as my sports house "Nara" was represented by the color. However, this relationship was short-lived. Since graduating middle school 10 years ago I can honestly remember wearing the color only once four years later after graduating high school in the summer of 2010.

Six years, one college degree and two years in the workforce later I find myself sitting here writing a blog post about the very color I never thought I'd wear again.  Whilst planning for a shoot my friend recommended I wear a new jacket by our friends/designer duo Sean & Sheila. When I heard the jacket was dark green I wasn't thrilled but decided to be open-minded and at least look at it as I know that every piece Sean & Sheila create is amazing.

The moment my eyes met the jacket I Knew I had finally found the shade of green that suited me. The color, cut, style and fine hand-embroidered dragonfly details makes this jacket a great statement piece.  I felt that this shade (Teal) really suited my chocolate skin tone. It's not that I had never seen teal before or never worn it, I assume I always pushed it aside or never gave it a second thought and that won't be happening again!. From this post forth, I swear to both myself and you that I will be more open minded to colors that I once deemed unfitting. It goes to show that you never know if something is really meant to be unless you give it a second chance.

P.S I think I forgot to mention that this jacket was actually made for women, however i feel i'm doing a great job of pulling it off don't you? 😛
