DOZOH THE DEFINITION OF STREET STYLE SPRING SUMMER 2019
On Tuesday October 16 2018 Korean label Dozoh’s creative director and head designer Dongwook Jo Cho (조동욱) showcased his new spring summer 2019 collection at Seoul Fashion Week held in Dongdaemun design plaza. Having had the pleasure of attending Dozoh’s shows for the last three seasons, I can confidently say that the label’s latest collection brings a much welcomed evolution to the brand and makes its mark among top street style labels.
This season Dozoh said goodbye to its grungier take on streetwear and instead focused on presenting brighter pieces whilst still keeping its brand identity. The collection was youthful, fresh and gave an overall “don’t mess with me vibe” as the models walked down the runway with a cool badass attitude and extreme confidence. Stand out pieces in this collection were jackets, hoodies and menswear shirts that I could see being stocked in a number of streetwear stores throughout Asia and Europe.
In an industry dominated by the streetwear trend, Dozoh continues to authentically differentiate itself from its competitors both in South Korea and abroad. This season quite a few designers seemed to have lost their spark but Dozoh managed to make a strong impression solidifying itself as one of South Korea’s top streetwear labels.
