SUMMER SHIRTS & SHORTS — East & West post - East & West

If you were to ask anyone who's known me for a long time they'd probably tell you that they've never seen me wear a pair of shorts besides the ones we were forced to wear during PE class.

One may think this is an impossible feat when you're living in tropical countries like The Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia but somehow i managed to deal with wearing long pants even during the hot summer months.

I do have two very logical and understandable reasons as to why i didn't like to wear shorts. Firstly i'd felt insecure and uncomfortable about showing my hairy legs. (until i discovered the wonders of leg waxing 😅) secondly i'd never really found a pair of shorts that i actually liked.

After discovering a cute pair of bright green shorts by Thai brand Happy Closet (seen above) during a shopping trip at an amazing airport themed mall Terminal 21 in Bangkok i decided the time had come to wearing shorts .

When buying shorts I recommend going for plain yet bright colors that stand out, this gives you more freedom to play with a verity of T-shirts with or without patters and prints.

sustainable Korean label Basic House (베이직하우스) provide a wide array of casual yet stylish clothing for both men and women. I was attracted to this T-shirt due to its small hints of patterns on the pocket square and upper back of the shirt.

i decided to pair this shirt with a sky blue pair of Happy Closet shorts to bring attention to the pattern detail of the shirt.

Crocodile International is yet another brand form Asia that creates comfortable, casual and stylish clothes for men. I decided to pair my favourite summer shirt by crocodile with yellow H&M shorts and flats from Spanish shoe brand Flossy to create a bit of cultural collision.
