Earlier this month, Japanese designer Tetsuya Doi’s acclaimed brand, RequaL≡, presented their Spring-Summer 2022 collection at London Fashion Week.

Titled Reiss Take, the collection features gorgeous oversized coats, hats, sweaters, and fantastic streetwear pieces that highlight the designer's creativity. The show opened with a dress that reminded us of a gorgeous porcelain piece and was followed by incredibly fashion-forward shirts. Watching the entire show feels like being given an exclusive insight into the stages of Tetsuya’s creative process. From stylish ready-to-wear to unique avant-garde creations and then to stunning deconstructed designs, Tetsuya’s evolutionary creative journey was spectacular, show-stopping, and strong.

Speaking on his collection, Tetsuya says, “In my approach to the concrete image of man and clothing, I use symbols such as deterioration, decadence, and repetition of deconstruction and reconstruction through details and shapes that may deviate due to deficiencies in attention, to propose the image of man and sublimate it into fashion design.”

RequaL≡’s deconstructed jackets and sleek pants are definitely going to be on my wishlist for next spring-summer season, as will the fabulous oversized and straw hats.
