ALL ABOUT AIMONO

Aimono Asian DC Blogger

It has been about five months since I last posted on the blog and I know a lot of you have been asking why it has taken me so long to get myself together and create new content, I promise you that I will cover what's been going on in my life for the past few months in another post, however this post will be all about one of my favourite Indonesian labels Aimono Indonesia

I began working with Aimono late last year when I was still living in Jakarta and have since been collaborating / creating content with them. Inspired by Wakufu (a general term for traditional Japanese clothing including the Kimono and Yukata) the brand has kept tradition elements of design whilst incorporating a modern twist. Not only do I find Aimono’s kimono inspired outer pieces incredibly comfortable and convenient to wear, they are sold at extremely cheap prices (starting at around $25), proving that one does not need to spend an obscene amount of money to wear good quality stylish clothes..

Although Aimono is a relatively new brand I truly believe that it has the potential to become the next Ganni. This became evident to me whist shopping in the neighbourhood of Georgetown a few months back and being stopped by about 20 people asking me where I got my kimono (seen here on my Instagram) and how they could get their hands on one.

What I love most about Aimono’s kimono inspired pieces is how effortlessly stylish I feel when wearing them. On days I'm looking for something a little unique yet classy or simply can’t decide what to wear I always find myself reaching for one of my (now three) Aimono pieces. The brand has truly become a wardrobe stable that screams classy, convenienceand comfort.
