Blogger life (a hint of pink!)
I hate having nothing to write about. I have so many ideas and thoughts in my head but typing them out tonight is a difficult feat. Being a fashion blogger, or influencer, or whatever the hell one wants to call it isn't exactly easy, in fact no job is. Some assume that all an influencer / blogger does is take pretty pictures with our fancy cameras or high-end smartphones, post them on an online platform and get paid big time. This assumption may hold true to some, however, for the most part this is simply not the case.
The planning that goes into each post is not what one would expect. Location, outfit, accessories, story and styling is only half of what one must think of when they create content for their desired platform. One must also make their readers feel connected to who they are following and this isn't always easy.
In my opinion having something that drives you to create will generate the most success. An example of this is my own personal drive to succeed. When I think about what I want my readers to get out of East & West I would hope they learn two things.
1: Asia has awesome fashion designers that need to be given a bigger place on the world’s fashion stage.
2: That someone with a disability or any sort of difficulty can still be stylish, confident, independent and a contributing member of society. Whether or not this is achieved is up to how hard I work to make it happen, I will, I know for sure I will.
For all the budding bloggers and influencers out there the best piece of advice I can give you is be yourself, be genuine and be real, only then will you be unstoppable. Find your motivation and your reason for doing what you do.
